Fauda Season 4 – OMG!

They Shot Sagi!
It did not take long to watch Fauda Season 4. Began on the 20th and finished on the 21st of January. But what a depressing ending!
Is it a cliffhanger or the absolute end of this fantastic show on Netflix? Who knows? But I cannot believe they shot Sagi! The bastards!
And I cannot believe how irritating it is to watch tv-series having to read subtitles to understand what they are saying!
Starry-Eyed Nerd
I took an interest in the Hebrew language decades ago, one because I thought the letters were really cute, and two because I wanted to go to Israel, a country I had a quasi-quixotic interest in – Among other things, it had to do with people my mom met back in the day in Israel, and oranges.
That was 20+ years ago when I was still a naïve and starry-eyed nerd in love with modernism, Shakespeare, Capa & Taro, and Hemingway.
“Romantic love is mental illness. But it’s a pleasurable one. It’s a drug. It distorts reality, and that’s the point of it.”
Now, even though life has killed off the romantic in me and replaced this with disillusion and sarcasm, my middle-aged me still has a keen interest in the above and understands some Hebrew, even if very, very, very little!
So, it has been annoying and yet also reassuring to watch Fauda and When Heroes Fly, listen to Idan Amedi's music and follow various Instagram accounts because some very distant bells are ringing!
I Hate to Lose
I hate to lose, and that includes skills. And even if my vocabulary is less than minuscule these days, I hope to be able to read and speak basic Hebrew within a couple of years so I can turn off subtitles on Netflix and go to Israel without having to rely nonstop on the interrogative sentence:
Do you speak English?
Thanks for reading! I hope you found it valuable and worth your time! Until next time, remember to get your facts straight and that whatever good times you have will never come back as bad times,
