My Work History
Over the past 30+ years, I have worked in various creative sectors, including advertising, language quality analysis at all levels, editing, reviewing, copywriting, and fact-checking, as well as in other fields.
I left everyday life, security, and employment behind in 2007, and I have been self-employed since 2008, aside from a CDD contract, teaching English in a language school in Paris from 2008 to 2009.
By spring 2007, I knew that I did not want to spend my life in an office. Not in an advertising agency, not inside a media house; I had tried various sectors and concluded that being confined to an office all day just wasn’t for me, regardless of the office. That knowledge, plus one death and one life-altering disaster, pushed me to cut the biblical cord to Denmark and security altogether in 2007.
I packed up everything I owned, placed it in storage, and left. Life was short, deprived of meaning, and chaotic, and you just had to live it, not just exist in it, because it can end at any moment. So, I joined the poverty jet set and traveled for about a year. In the summer of 2008, I ended up in Paris, my absolute favorite city in Europe, just my Yorkie pup and me. And for the first time in a decade, I felt at home. I was sure I had finally found my forever home.
Measuring out my life with coffee spoons in the Marais in 2008, I decided that I would not work to live. I would rather make less money doing what I love than make good money being bored. And so I began writing freelance, which evolved into fact-checking – my version. And to make ends meet, I started translating in 2009.
So what am I doing in the sticks in Denmark? In short, I have been back in Denmark since the summer of 2014, and since 2017, I have worked exclusively as a translator. What used to be a side gig turned into a survival and full-time job, primarily due to geography and necessity.

All put together I have translated, edited and proofed more than 2 million words from English and French to Danish for some of the biggest, and some of the smaller translation agencies from all over the world (such as England, United States, Italy, India, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, Israel). This work has provided me with the opportunity to collaborate with some of the best in the business, as well as 15 years of experience working with some huge clients, including Airbnb, Grohe, the EU, Bodum, Hugo Boss, HomeToGo, various French vineyards, Disneyland Paris, and Lenovo.
