A Child’s Logic

Gavroche
A few years ago, just after my little dog Gavroche died, my nephew Thomas gave me a picture of my dog Gavroche he had made for me to remember Gavroche by, and in his then six-year-old logic, also instead of Gavroche.
I wish a picture could replace a living being, but it cannot. However, I am sure it makes sense in a child’s logic. And for some reason, the picture makes me happy. Even cynics have hearts, I guess.
Kids & Pets
Thomas and Gavroche were friends, and I hope Thomas will remember him when he is older, the little dog that licked his nose every chance he got.
Because you remember the pets and other animals, you knew when you were a child for the rest of your life. I remember every cat, dog, bird, turtle, rabbit, and one 3-legged frog. Animals are priceless buddies in your life. They leave everlasting and loving pawprints in your heart, as they leave snout prints on windows, muddy paws on white carpets, and thousands of beautiful memories in your life.
Focus On The Happy Memories
Two years and some after Gavroche’s death, I am getting to the point where I can focus on the good, the happy, the funny, and the hilarious moments and memories, all the lovely things Gavroche did, and not just be heartbroken about his passing.
A Loving Memory
Thomas’ picture of Gavroche was a heartwarming present – the only one I got, by the way; grownups did not seem to understand that I had lost the closest thing to a kid I will ever have – after all, he was 14 years old!
And it may be because I am an aunt and love Thomas that I can see Gavroche in the picture of the dog Thomas made, or maybe not, but I can.
Thomas may have made this picture for me to remember Gavroche. However, that in itself is a memory of a little boy I will miss and most likely never see again when I leave Denmark.
Thanks for reading! I hope you found it valuable and worth your time! Until next time, remember to get your facts straight and that whatever good times you have will never come back as bad times,
